The Process

Stage 1

Nominations

The Esports Awards Panel will provide nominations for consideration across all categories. The panel is made up of experts from all walks of the esports industry covering all aspects.

Stage 2

Shortlisting

The Esports Awards Panel will submit their final nominations by June 10th. The internal committee receives all of the panel nominations and collates the shortlists to compile the lists of finalists. Any omitted finalists are flagged to the Panel Counsel, and the Panel Counsel has final sign-off on the list. The finalists will be publicly announced via an announcement show.

Stage 3

Finalists Announced

The awards are broken down into four groups: Entertainment. Industry, Creative, Pro, and On-air.

All candidates who are successful in making the shortlist will have the opportunity to supplement their entry with further details between the shortlist announcement date and August. This stage allows entrants to include achievements and relevant material from the 2023 & 2024 esports seasons for the information of the judging panel.

Stage 4

Public Vote

In 2024, the winners for Industry, Creative, Pro, On-Air Talent and several of the Entertainment award categories are decided by the public vote combined with the panel votes. The public vote is worth 25%, and the panel counts for 75%.

This creates a balanced approach to establishing rightful winners, ensuring the community is considered whilst maintaining the weighting of the expert panel giving distinction to those that deserve it.

Esports Content Creator of the Year, Esports Personality of the Year and Streamer of the Year are voted on 100% by you, the community – so YOU decide the winner!

The recipients of the Lifetime Achievement in Esports Award and Panel’s Choice Award are decided 100% by the Esports Awards Panel

Stage 5

Judging Panel

Our expert panel from across the industry will convene prior to the awards. After a lengthy discussion, they will vote on their winners in the Entertainment, Industry, Pro and On-Air Talent award categories. We have also curated a specialist Creative Panel, made up of industry professionals who are experts on the creative side of the esports world. The Creative panel members will be voting on the Creative award categories. To view, a full list of our panel members click here

Each panellist will vote independently on their 1st place finalist in each award category. The finalists will be awarded points based on the number of votes they receive from the panel.

These votes will be counted and verified by our independent Esports Awards Committee. These will remain highly confidential until the night of the awards.

Stage 6

PUBLIC VOTING CLOSES

The public vote closes on August 14th for all categories.

The votes are then counted and verified and are moved on to the voting adjudication process.

Stage 7

VOTE ADJUDICATION

After the community vote closes, the finalists are given points based on their ranking from the community vote, equating to 25% of the total vote weighting.

The community points are then combined with the panel-voted points and create the verified totals to decide the winners for the Entertainment, Industry, Creative, Pro and On-Air Talent award categories for 2024. While the community rankings alone decide the winners for the following awards:

• Esports Content Creator of the Year
• Esports Personality of the Year
• Streamer of the Year

Additional information

Tiebreaker

In the event of a tiebreaker in which two finalists are locked on the same points after the panel and community votes have been adjudicated, the decision is referred back to the community vote.

If by some miraculous chance, a 100% public voted award incurs a tiebreak/drawn vote, the panel will vote between the individual finalists that are involved in the tiebreak with the winner being the finalist with the most panel votes after the community vote has been drawn.
