RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, June 13th, 2025: The Esports Awards is excited to announce the return of its prestigious award ceremony, celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2025. Since its launch in 2015, the awards have grown year-on-year, reaching new heights in 2024 with 60 million ceremony viewers and more than 11 million votes cast. After a decade of shows across the globe that reached hundreds of millions of fans, the Esports Awards marks this major milestone with a special edition: The Decade Awards, and a star-studded list of nominees for fans to vote for.
The Decade Awards will celebrate the most iconic figures, teams and moments that have defined the last ten years of esports and competitive excellence. This year will see the return of esteemed previous winners as default nominees in most categories, with standout names such as Nadeshot and Sjokz appearing in the ‘Esports Personality of the Decade’ category, alongside beloved streamers like Tyler1, Mortal, and Pokimane, who will defend their crown in the ‘Streamer of the Decade’ category. The special, one-off edition expands the evaluation window to recognise not only individual performances but also those who have demonstrated long-term impact, consistency and influence across the industry.

While past winners of awards will be strong contenders, the Decade Awards also open the door to nominees who have shaped the competitive landscape – whether or not they’ve previously taken home a trophy. Broadcasting live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the ceremony will bestow winners with awards titles ‘of the Decade’, rather than the traditional ‘of the Year’.
This rendition of the Esports Awards will form a key part of the Summer of Celebration, held in partnership with the Esports World Cup (EWC). This summer-long series will deliver unforgettable moments – from the showstopping opening ceremony to exclusive behind-the-scenes access featuring the biggest stars in the EWC. The festivities culminate in the official EWC closing ceremony, with the Esports Awards offering exclusive co-streams and content to ensure fans don’t miss a moment.
In addition, the Esports Awards’ is proud to continue its long-standing partnership with Oakley, returning as the Official Eyewear Partner for a fourth consecutive year. Extending its commitment for another two years, Oakley will bring back fan-favourite activations, including state of the art sunglasses and merch drops.
“2025 is set to be a monumental year with the Decade Awards, celebrating the last ten years of esports and competitive success. It’s a privilege to be partnering once again with the Esports World Cup to celebrate the most prestigious night in the Esports calendar,“ said Mike Ashford, CEO of the Esports Awards, “We’re excited to showcase the Summer of Celebration and highlight the triumphs of our beloved esports community and beyond.“
This year promises to be a truly unforgettable experience for the global esports community. Building on its triumphs from the previous years, there’s plenty of new experiences to behold at this year’s ceremony, with more to be revealed soon.
